A Ticket to Mars…

Honoring one of the most influential musicians in the 20th century, David Bowie who called New York City home for over two decades, Spotify partnered with the DAVID BOWIE IS traveling exhibition held at the Brooklyn Museum by transforming his local subway station into a temporary museum exhibit naming it DAVID BOWIE IS HERE.

DAVID BOWIE IS HERE featured over 40 unique pieces illustrating Bowie’s life in the neighborhood and the city. Each piece had a gallery-style description card providing historical context, shows distance from the station of the place/thing mentioned, and a Spotify code to allow commuters an opportunity to listen to the song it inspired. Highlights include a 150-ft anamorphic centerpiece that showed Bowie from two eras, and the release of 250,000 David Bowie Metrocards, dubbed ‘Tickets to Mars’.
